Project 1: Sketchbook and Journal
In this short semester, we were given a specific building to measure and produce complete set of orthographic drawings as well as a report, photo book and a physical model to scale. Our group has been assigned a palace -- Istana Negara which is located at Jalan Istana, Kuala Lumpur. This project is an on-site exercise where we were required to sketch and documents the physical and intangible qualities of the buildings as well as the immediate context of the site. It can be from an element as broad as the urban planning itself down to the smallest detail of the ornaments used in the building.
Learning Outcomes
1. Able to produce sketches through different tecniques of drawing and rendering.
2. Learn to observe and appreaciate meticulous details in a building.
3. Learn to capture the tangible and intangible essence that is contained within the architecture realm.

1. Able to execute fieldwork and hands-on measurement exercise.
2. Able to translate measured data into scaled drawings.
3. Learn to produce a report on the buildings highlighting its importance and historical significance.
